South Australia NEWS

December 2017 - The SA Branch sponsored a "Young Investigator Award" for the annual Adelaide Sleep Retreat on 14 November. We had our final brqnch meeting for the year on Tuesday 28 November at the Unley Community Centre. The committee wishes everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

October 2017 - Our Branch AGM attracted a large crowd of 63 people, who were interested in the speaker's topic of Restless Legs Syndrome.

Lawrie Connell, our long-standing treasuer, has stepped down, and we welcomes Jeff Schapel as our new Branch Treasurer. We have a vacant position of Assistant Secretary, which we hope someone will step up to fill soon.

August 2017 - Please join us at our AGM on Tuesday 15 August to hear Dr Sutapa Mukherjee, who will be presenting a talk on Restless Legs Syndrome.

Our meetings are a great way to meet other sleep disorder sufferers and talk about your experiences.

June 2017 - Our next meeting will be on Tuesday 25 July at the Unley Community Centre. Please come along to meet other sleep disorder sufferers and share your experiences over a cuppa. The SA Branch is pleased to welcome Karalyn Patrick who will be SDA's RLS Coordinator.

The local SA brochure is coming along and the committee is currently looking at the prospect of sponsors to be placed within the brochure.

April 2017 - With the Fringe Festival and the Adelaide Festival in "Mad March" (as we call it) to compete with, the SDA SA Branch had a stand in the Rundle Mall on 16 March, complete with CPAP machines, masks and leaflets. It went very well.

Our committee members and volunteers were kept busy with enquiries from the public regarding the various displays and leaflets, and it was a great precursor to the Tenth Annual World Sleep Day which was on Friday 17 March.
