The most important annual event for Idiopathic Hypersomnia is the International Idiopathic Hypersomnia Awareness Week® hosted by Hypersomnolence Australia. It is held annually in the first full week in September. In 2018 it will be held from 3-9th September.
It is the mission of Idiopathic Hypersomnia Awareness Week® to raise awareness and to help improve the level of education of Idiopathic Hypersomnia among the general public, Hypersomnia patients and medical professionals.

The focus of 2018 Idiopathic Hypersomnia Awareness Week (IHAW) is to highlight the effect Idiopathic Hypersomnia has on a sufferer’s day to day life and the challenges and limitations of current treatments. SDA will be supporting the IHAW by sharing posts and stories by people living with Idiopathic Hypersomnia.
